Our Values and Beliefs
What we believe:
- That the Bible is the Word of God, that we can confidently use it to teach us what is true and help us to realise what is wrong in our lives. God uses the Bible to prepare and equip us to do every good work.
- That there is one God, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, three distinct and separate persons, one being. He is the creator of everything.
- In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in his virgin birth, his sinless life, his miracles, his victory over death, his resurrection to life again, and his ascension to the right hand of the Father, where he is constantly praying for us, and we are expecting his return soon.
- In the work of the Holy Spirit, and his fruits and gifts that are available to the church today.
- In the existence of the devil, who seeks to destroy everyone.
- That all people are born spiritually lost, and that everyone needs to be ‘born again’ through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as a gift available to all believers, as a subsequent experience to being born again, with normal evidence of speaking in other tongues.
- In the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and baptism by full immersion in water, which are for all believers.
- In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved to everlasting life with God, and the other to eternal separation from God.
- That the church is the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.
